MATERIALS CHECKLIST
Aluminium framing, corner pieces - 4 per screen, screen mesh,
aluminium mitre box, fastenings, spline plastic piping, handyman
spline roller.

1.
Measure window opening to be screened. Allow 2 mm short
for internal mountings, approx. 40 mm longer for
overlapping or surface fixing. |
2.
Mark and cut aluminium section using mitre box with a
hacksaw or any fine-tooth saw. Ensure first that
measurements are correct and that the piping channel is on
the short side of the section when cut. |
|
3.
Assemble the insect screen frame using the aluminium
corner as shown. Use a piece of wood or a mallet to gently
tap corners into position. When assembled, test on window
to ensure correct size. |
4.
Place frame on a flat surface (table, bench or floor) with
the channel side up and place screen material over it. Cut
the corners of screen material as shown by broken line. |
|
5.
Insert plastic piping, forcing screening and piping down
into channel with handyman spline roller. Make sure frame
is not distorted by over-tension. |
6.
Commencing from one corner, trim off excess screening with
a sharp knife. The screen is then ready for the window. |
|

7.
It is recommended that screen retaining clips be used - two
clips on either side. For louvre type windows it is
recommended that a 60 mm x 25 mm box frame be fixed to the
outside of the window with the screen fitted to allow the
louvres to open to the fullest extent. |
